Shape the future of a well-funded, ambitious pension fund

This is a rare opportunity to become the first statutory Senior LGPS Officer for the Isle of Wight Pension Fund and play a leading role in its future development.
With around 18,000 members, a strong funding position and a newly integrated pensions service covering administration, governance and accounting, in this new role you'll have the opportunity to have a lasting impact.

About the role

As the strategic lead for the Pension Fund, you'll provide expert advice to the Pension Fund Committee and Local Pension Board, oversee governance and administration, and direct the Fund's approach to funding, investments, risk and compliance. You'll also lead the Fund's response to significant national reforms, including the Government's evolving pensions agenda.

Why join us?

This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to help shape the future via this new statutory role and influence the direction of the Fund.

We've recently brought together pension administration, governance and accounting into one service and invested in additional resources to strengthen resilience and performance.

You'll inherit an enthusiastic, supportive team that is keen to innovate, improve and make its mark.

As a smaller LGPS fund, we offer something many larger organisations cannot: visible impact, close working relationships and the ability to influence decisions and drive change quickly.
We combine the strategic challenges of a larger fund with a collaborative and approachable culture.

About you

You'll be an experienced pensions professional with:

  • Strong LGPS knowledge and technical expertise
  • Experience in governance, funding, administration or investment oversight
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to lead change and navigate a complex regulatory environment
  • A passion for developing people, improving services and delivering excellent outcomes for members and employers.
