Assistant SEND Finance Officer
37 hours per week

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Finance Officer to join the SEND Finance team, helping us to make sure every pound of funding delivers the best possible start in life for SEND children across the Isle of Wight.
What will you be doing?
Support the Senior Leadership Team and SEND Finance Officer to:
- Manage all SEND-related budgets and expenditures.
- Ensure procurement of services and packages is appropriate and cost-effective.
- Monitor and control spending, including bulk purchasing of placements and services.
- Oversee contracts for SEND services, ensuring they are managed throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensure services meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in finance, accountancy, or business management.
- Confident in managing budgets, preparing reports, and using finance systems.
- Highly organised, accurate, and able to meet deadlines.
- A clear communicator who can explain finance to non-finance colleagues.
- Motivated to support services that give children the best start in life.
