The Isle of Wight council is looking to recruit a Duty Harbour Master to be based at Newport Harbour.

The postholders will be responsible for the daily supervision of Newport Harbour, making sure all relevant operating procedures are carried out to a high standard of customer care and that effective Health and Safety procedures are always implemented.

The role will include the collection and administration of berthing fees and dealing with enquiries from berth holders, visitors and the public demonstrating a high standard of customer care

The successful applicant will need a VHF Radio Operators Licence and have had experience working in a marine/harbour environment.

There is a requirement to cover 20 hours a week on a shift pattern, weekends and bank holiday will be included in the shift pattern.
