Commissioning Officer - Housing
Contract Type:
Hours:
Are you looking for a new, exciting challenge that delivers our housing agenda and improves the lives of island residents? If so, we have just the role for you.
We are changing things at pace in commissioning and our sights are set on being a national exemplar of innovation and excellence, delivering the very best person-centred outcomes for people living on the Isle of Wight. We have made huge progress, but in many ways our journey to great is just beginning.
We have an exciting opening for a creative, motivated, and solution-focussed Commissioning Officer to join our Team. With the skills to build strong relationships, a commitment to improving outcomes and the ability to work proactively, you will work as an integral part of a team of experienced commissioners.
You will have your own portfolio of work with responsibility for designing, commissioning, and monitoring a range of housing and homelessness services. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues in both adult social care and housing, developing a range of innovate solutions to support vulnerable island residents.
Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of working in either housing, homelessness or youth services, in the public or voluntary sectors. You will have the ability to manage competing priorities, a strong sense of creativity and innovation and the communication skills to build collaborative partnerships with the people who access our services, colleagues, and stakeholders, working together to co-design and co-produce outcome focussed commissioning solutions
You will be confident creating complex but concise documents for broad audiences, seeking out and facilitating funding opportunities, undertaking informal research and evidence gathering and using appropriate data sources to supplement your ideas.
You will receive regular 1-1 supervision, have support from your line manager and attend regular team meetings. There will also be opportunities for training to support your professional development.
As a team, we strongly believe in and apply the following principles:
• We see the potential in all people and work with their strengths
• We listen, learn, and respond through co-production
• We apply national best practice
• We work together
• We see people, not labels
If you share our vision and values and are interested in this role, we would love to hear from you.

PLEASE NOTE: Out of Hours Standby and Call Out
