Senior Social Worker

Hours: 37 per week
Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about working with people to promote independence? Here at the Isle of Wight Council we understand the work you do each day and we provide the support you need to make a difference to the people of the Island.
Do you have experience of supervising, maybe as a Practice Educator or Mentor? Or perhaps you are already a Social Work manager seeking a new role? We'd love to hear from you because we have a full time Senior Social Worker position available in our Integrated Locality Team.
This team of around 30 professional Social Work staff has a supportive and engaged management structure including a Service Manager, Integrated Team Manager and other Senior Social Workers. As one of our Senior Social Workers you'll oversee day to day operations and supervision of staff in our south locality.

- Have a social work qualification and be SWE registered- Be an accredited Practice Educator or AMHP - Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment - Have experience of chairing meetings - Demonstrate skills and experience of promoting a person centred, strengths-based approach - Have excellent working knowledge of legislation used within Adult Social Care - Have good knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, including s.42 enquiries and - - - Making Safeguarding Personal - Be confident in decision making, knowing when to seek support - Understand the importance of data in supporting staff, teams and wider service - Promote people’s strengths and the ability to make a difference in a safe working approach to practice
- Be a critical thinker with competence and confidence in your practice. - Work as part of a team with capacity to lead a team putting the strengths of individuals, families and community at the heart of care and wellbeing.
